As a leading travel retailer, Nuance operates 75,000 square metres of retail space spanning 66 locations in 19 countries and territories across the globe. In addition to an extensive portfolio of duty and tax-free stores, brand boutiques and concept stores, the group also provides in-flight services and operates a wholesale and distribution business, supporting the travel retail sector. Headquartered in Zurich, Nuance employs 6,100 people worldwide.
Tasked with developing an innovative new look and feel for their retail brand, signalling the start of a new phase of Investment and Innovation for the company, our key objective was to make shopping more engagement and more exciting.
Key objectives included:
We were to do this by maximising impact and engagement instore, improving navigation and creating a differentiated brand to help the group compete more effectively at the all-important tender stage.
The Nuance group’s development was a culmination of an 18-month collaboration with the global duty-free operator working with the airport partners and suppliers in Australia, Hong Kong, Las Vegas and Europe in order to develop a brand strategy and brand proposition that would best reflect the brand, their people and the company’s ambitions for growth.
We were tasked to create several initiatives for their instore presentations as well as online. Our first development was to create a tablet hub located at the front of the store. This will not only keep customers engaged and instore longer but also give a new and more straightforward way to find the right products and gift ideas.
by giving the entire stock range on a tablet, this also gave Nuance’s consumers greater access to the product range and more accurate information and pricing.
The tablets are connected to the stock management system allowing synergy across all platforms allowing the user to purchase or reserve the product online before leaving home. The long term requirements of the project also added an eCommerce transactional website, seven boutique tables as well as a mobile app across all platforms.
